Since his DJ birth in 1998, Youri Donatz has established a formidable reputation as a DJ and producer, blending a unique fusion of Techhouse and Melodic Techno. This musical maestro is known for his grooving, phat baselines, and melodic influences that truly set him apart in an era where many others stick to the ‘safe and tested’.

In 2011, Youri launched his own label, Kaapro Records, which has become a platform for pushing the envelope of creativity in the music scene. His career experienced a significant highlight in 2012 with the release of his EP on Lauhaus and Kabale und Liebe’s label, We Dig Music. The track ‘Iz Diz Houz’ was promptly recognised by top DJs like Loco Dice, Marco Carola, and Richie Hawtin. His records, such as ‘Like This Sound’, ‘Amadeus’, ‘Rina’ on the Blackbird label, have also stirred excitement in the music world. These tracks are undeniably listenable and memorable, yet never invasive.

In recent years, Youri has been experimenting with a new alias, Tofteviken, under which he has released several innovative tracks. These include ‘Mercury’, ‘Neptune’, ‘Uranus’, ‘Jupiter’, ‘Mars’, and ‘Earth’, each showcasing his continued versatility and creative growth in Melodic House & Techno.

Adding to his dynamic persona, Youri has recently introduced another alias, Kraaifontein. Under this new moniker, he has released two compelling Afro House tracks that have quickly gained traction. The first release, ‘Gordons Bay’, is an Afro House masterpiece inspired by the picturesque coastal towns of South Africa. With pulsating rhythms and evocative melodies, this track offers a vibrant homage to the rich cultural tapestry and breathtaking landscapes of Gordons Bay, transporting listeners to the heart of South Africa’s vibrant Afro House scene.

Following this, ‘Durbanville’ emerged as the newest creation under the Kraaifontein alias.
